Sweets from Cherry Republic

Today I'm highlighting two treats from the Cherry Republic - their Dark Chocolate Covered Cherry Nut Mix and their Double Dark Chocolate Boomchunka cookies. I just love that name! Boomchunka. It's got a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Jason got these treats as a Christmas gift from work and was kind enough to share them with me. I'd already eaten some of the chocolate-covered cherries before I took the picture! They're so good, it's hard not to eat the whole bag in a single sitting. This mix has both cherries and nuts in it, so you get a nice combo of sweet and tart as well as sweet and crunchy.

The cookies were excellent as well; I enjoyed one after dinner last night. They're gigantic, with nice chunks of dark chocolate and dried cherries. Drink a tall glass of cold milk to help power your way through one of these things.

Cherry Republic has four retail locations in Michigan and you can buy their products online, too. Visiting one of the stores myself is just another thing I'll have to add to my ever-growing to-do list.

  1. The cherry republic store in Glen Arbor is on of my favorite places. The gardens are beautiful and they have cherry ice cream. I love the old screen doors too. I have been to the ones in AA and TC, but they don't compare :-)

    1. Ooh, I'll have to remember that next time I go up North. I passed through Glen Arbor last summer after going to the dunes, but didn't have time to actually stop and see anything there. Thanks for sharing about the store, now I really want to go there!
